Day 1

    Arrival and Accommodation - Yerevan City Tour
Arrival in Yerevan International airport Zvartnots.Transfer and hotel accommodation. Breakfast at the hotel. At 11.00 AM : A city tour in Yerevan, one of the ancient cities in the world: Matenadaran (Museum of ancient manuscripts), Republic Square, Sports & Concerts complex, Parliament House, Palace of President, Opera house then visit Erebuni Museum and the ruins of ancient Fortress, where you can see Yerevan’s “Birth Certificate”, a basalt slab with an Urartian cuneiform inscription unearthed by archeologists, which says that King Argishti the First of Urartu founded the fortress of Erebuni in 782 B., Victory Park to see the panoramic view of Yerevan. Visit is Cascade and Gafesjian Center for the Arts, which is dedicated to bringing the best of contemporary art to Armenia and presenting the best of Armenian culture to the world. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 2

     Yerevan – Khor Virap – Areni – Noravank – Goris
Breakfast at the hotel. Check out. 10.00 AM: Drive to Khor Virap Monastery where the Biblical Mount Ararat reveals its breathtaking view when the weather is favorable. Sightseeing Khor Virap, where Grigor the Illuminator was imprisoned for preaching Christianity (17th –18th centuries). Visit Areni Wine Factory for wine tasting. Visit Noravank Monastery (13th century) the masterpiece of medieval Armenian architecture, which is in a gigantic basin of miraculous cliffs. Lunch. Next stop is Goris city, which is famous for its home-made fruit vodkas, and for the medieval cave-dwellings carved out of the soft rock in the southern part of the town. Dinner and overnight in Goris.

Day 3

    Goris – Tatev – Karahounj – Selim pass – Sevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Check out. 10.00 AM: Excursion leads to the majestic Monastery of Tatev, a former center for the sciences and arts. Discover the beauty of the nature from “the sky” by Aerial Tramway. Spanning 5.7 kilometers across the spectacular Vorotan River Gorge, the Tatev’s Aerial Tramway is the longest passenger aerial tramway in the world. The “Devil Bridge” is the most beautiful and the most amazing natural miracle of Vorotan gorge. From the sides of the bridge are hanging charming stalactites and from the rocky slopes are dribbling cascades. Karahungh (Stonehenge) is 3, 500 years older than England’s Stonehenge. Main temple consisting of 40 stones built in honor of God of Sun is situated in the central part of Karahunj. Besides the temple, it had a large and developed observatory and a university. Lunch on the way. Drive through Selim Pass visiting the Caravanserai (XIV c.). The Selim caravansary was built in 1332 by Prince Chesar Orbelian, according to an inscription in Armenian and Arabic, this used to be an important trade point in the famous Silk Road. The last stop in Sevan. Dinner and overnight in Sevan.

Day 4

    Yerevan – Sevan – Dilijan – Alaverdi (full day)
Breakfast at the hotel. Check out. 10.00 AM: Drive to the mountainous Lake Sevan (1900 m), “The Emerald of Armenia" which is one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world, lying at 1950m above the sea level. Abundant sunshine, beautiful landscape, fine beaches and crystal-clear cool water make the shore of the lake an excellent holiday spot. Visit Sevanavank Monastery on the peninsula. Rest time and swimming in Lake Sevan. Lunch in Sevan. After, trip to the region of coniferous and mixed forests, to Dilijan City. Outing to medieval Goshavank Monastery (11-13th century). Dinner and overnight in Alaverdi.

Day 5

    Haghpat – Sanahin – Yerevan (8 hours)
Breakfast at the hotel. Check out. 10.00 AM: Passing border of Georgia - Armenia. Tour to the architectural complexes of Sanahin (966 AD) and Haghpat (976 AD) which are among the outstanding works of medieval Armenian architecture and are inscribed in UNESCO World Heritage list. The architectural details and decoration of the monuments, which belong to the same epoch, have much in common and are even exactly alike in some cases, which gives us ground to presume that they were created by craftsmen of the same school. Lunch in Alaverdi . Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 6

    Yerevan – Garni – Geghard – Yerevan
Breakfast at hotel in Yerevan. At 10.00 AM:  On the road from Yerevan to Garni stop near Charents Arch for a beautiful view of Biblical Ararat Mountain. Tour to the Pagan Temple of Garni (1st century A.D.) site of Roman Temple of the Sun. Soon after Armenia adopted Christianity, the temple became the summer residence of Armenian royalty. Next stop is Geghard –cave Monastery, the name geghard,, derives from the relics of the Armenian Apostolic church: the spear that one of the Roman guards had used to pierce the rib of crucified Christ. The monastery is included in UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites.Lunch. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 7

    Yerevan – Amberd - Shaghmosavank – Yerevan (7 hours)
Breakfast at the hotel. 10.00 AM: Visit Amberd Fortress and Church (10th-11th centuries) perched on the slopes of Aragats Mountain, Fortress dating back to  the 9th century, 6 km from the village of Byurakan, stands halfway up Mt. Aragats, at the height of 2300m. The fortress stands on a rocky cape formed by the rivers Amberd and Arkhashen. There are also vestiges of a fortified three-storied palace, a church built in 1026, a palace bathhouse with two domes, a central heating system, water tanks, a water-supply system, and a secret passage to a nearby cleft, and other buildings. The  “Garden”of Armenian Alphabet,visit Saghmosavank (12th century)  medieval monastery, situated in the breathtaking site, at the deep canyon of Ashtarak. Lunch. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 8

    Yerevan – Echmiadzin – Sardarapat – Brandy Factory – Yerevan (8 hours)
Breakfast at the hotel. At 10.00 AM: Tour to Echmiadzin the spiritual and administrative center of the Armenian Apostolic Church.Sightseeing the Mother See of Echmiadzin (4th Century) where treasures and relics of the church are preserved, St. Hripsime (7th century) Church. Visit to Sardarabad Monument and Ethnograpy Museum where various archeological artifacts are kept from Neolithic ages to contemporary days. Lunch. Last stop at ARARAT Brandy Factory where you will have a chance to observe the history of brandy production, from grape to glass, witness the birth of famous Ararat Brandy. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 9

    Yerevan – Free day for shopping
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to “Megerian Carpet” factory where will have an opportunity not only to see the unique examples of handmade rugs but also to watch the process of the rug weaving. Tour toVernissage, an outdoor market of unique handmade souvenirs. Overnight in Yerevan.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from the hotel to the airport and check in for departure.
